2024 Rainey-Shepard COB 300 Business Plan

My junior year of college I placed third in the Rainey-Shepard COB 300 business competition after developing a potential brand of renewable surfboards entitled Waste2Wave. The product would utilize recycled ocean plastic through a partnership with 4Ocean to not only help clean Earth's waters, but repurpose said trash into useful products. We created an in depth business plan including everything from our positioning, values, marketing strategies and target audience, down to the financial and production plans over a 5 year time frame. The whole experience was phenomenal as I was able to work with so many interesting people and was able to apply skillsets I had been learning for the previous two years at JMU, while learning so much in an extremely hands on project. The experience perfectly combined a creative and analytical approach that forced out of the box thinking and I'm honored to have made it to the finalists. This was truly the moment I realized I love what I do and I can't wait do further work in marketing.
